I missed you guys!

So I'm sure you guys have noticed that it has been a very long time since I posted. Well the girls and I have been around the world and back twice it seems. We unfortunatly have gone through some not so easy things. But as usual, we landed on our feet by the grace of God. As they say, it takes a little rain to make a rainbow. I haven't created anything in so long it hurts. LOL I finally unpacked all my supplies and have started to find my "mojo" again. I actually sat down and came up with quite a few things to share this week. But first, Id like the help of some of you regular bloggers. How do you stay on top of things? Do you schedule posts a week at a time or what? What's your routine? I could desperately use some help and would apperciate any assistance. Another question for those of you who also post to SCS, do you blog first, then post there or vice versa? Haha, I know that's alot of questions but I'm determined to conquer this blogging thing. LOL Now, on to some creative things.

First thing I wanna share is a card. The base is a 4 1/4 x 11" piece of cardstock folded to make an standard A2 card. I then layered a piece of black cardstock that I trimmed the bottom portion using a border punch and added a piece of polka dotted black ribbon. I then layered a yellow circle that measures 3 1/2". I finshed by applying my image that I colored, glittered, and then cut out with a die.

Here's the inside:

I simply cut a piece of black cardstock, die cut a white rectangle, and wrapped the two in my pretty polka dot ribbon. All of the cardstock is Stampin up and the images, ribbon, markers, and die are all purchased from my local big box. The card was very simple to create and only took me about 20 mins. I just love how it turned out though. Simple yet classy. And with all the rain we've been getting lately, Im sure the recipiant will greatly appreciate it. Thank you guys for stopping by and I promise not to stay gone so long this time:D

Note card holder with a link to the tutorial!

It's Thursday! The girls and I came in early yesterday and immediatly put on our pajamas and made a nice dinner. We love lazy nights in front of the fire place, watching movies. And since the was no school or work today, we got to stay up late last night. This is Cayley's favorite part. She asks every weekend, "can we stay up late tonight?". I always say yes because it never fails, around 9:30 or 10:00 she is passed out somewhere. LOL! The only downside to this is that I then have to carry her heavy behind up stairs and get her into bed. And of course the little one wants to stay up late too. She usually makes it to about 8, 8:30! They think they have really done something by "staying up late". We are planning to hang around the house in our pj's all day today too. I was thinking we might run out and see Madagascar 2 sometime this evening.

Today I want to share with you a note card holder that I made a few weeks back for my mother. I found the tutorial HERE at Dannies Designs. Dannie does wonderful tutorials. Even I can follow them. She is very detailed, which I need. I used the Afternoon Tea DSP. And my favorite in-color yet, Groovy Guava along with some chocolate chip. I enjoyed doing this. It was fun and over complicated.

Here's the inside with the cards and envies in place.

And here's a pic of just the note cards and envies together. This was a super cute, and easy project. You can dress it up or down. And I can't rave enough about Dannie's tutorial.

Thanks for taking a look! Have a great day!

Happy Wednesday!

Good Morning! I'm so happy that today is Wednesday, We are only working a half a day! What could be better? The girls and I will have a very long weekend together and that always makes me happy. Between work, and school, it sometimes seems as though I just don't get to see them enough. This is going to be one long, lazy weekend for us. We have absolutely NO plans for the entire weekend. That is no plans except for making cupcakes! Yippee! I dont even think we're doing black friday shopping this year.

I participated in the SCS sketch challenge 2 weeks ago and I am just now getting around to sharing the card. LOL! The challenge is Card Sketch #202 and HERE'S the link to the sketch. Here's what I got:

I love the bashful blue and chocolate chip combo. The DSP is something I picked up at Mike's the other day. I can't resist a sale on paper. LOL! I found the ribbon just lying around in a scrap bag and was very surprised at how well it matched. The stamp set is Happy Harmony from SU.

Here's a pic (although not a good one) of the inside:

My crative jucies stopped flowing when I got to this part. LOL! I wanted to show off the purple which I thought went very well with the blue and chocolate. My apologies for the picture. I just couldn't get a good one. I ssssoooo want a Canon Rebel for christmas.

Okay so I know a lot of you willbe traveling today and tomorrow to be with your loved ones and I just want to say that I hope you all have happy, and safe travels. Remeber to slow down some and just enjoy your families! I know, easier said than done sometimes. LOL! Have a great Wednesday!

We made it through Monday!

Happy Tuesday Ladies! Monday is finally over! I wasn't quite sure I was going to make it yesterday. I'm getting to the point of just hating Monday's. This one seems to have come really, super fast too. I guess it was because the girls and I spent all day Saturday and Sunday at an assembly. The program was very nice. It offered a lot of insight on the times that we are living in, from a bible point of view. Even my little bellas enjoyed it. LOL!

Anyways, on to stampin business. I didn't make the DT that I tried out for. I will defenantly be trying out for more in the future. I have my eye on two DT calls as we speak. LOL! I just need to sit my behind down and create. I did get the chance to come up with a cute little number my DD kindergarden teacher. Here it is:

Just a quick little Thank You card! I really appreciate all that teachers do in molding our little ones throughout the year. So, I decided to just drop her a few lines randomly to demonstrate our gratitude. One of the designer papers actually has the alphabet on it. You can't really tell it though. I made the card all extra large (5'1/2" square) so that I could show off that paper. LOL! Guess I should have gone for an 8" square card. LOL!

Here's the inside. I'm really trying to jazz up the insides of my cards too. LOL! I figure the more I decorate, the less I have to say. LOL! I know it sounds aweful, but I usually just end up rambling about nothing when I try to personalize my cards, so instead, I just make them really pretty. I hope she likes it!

I'm so glad you guys could stop in and check me out today! Guess what? I've already started working on my post for tomorrow. LOL! Let's keep our fingers crossed that it actually makes it up here tomorrow. Thanks for looking. Hope you all have a WONDERFUL day!

~Patrina

P.S. I'm making a mental note, not to photograph red cards on my shiny red laptop in the future. LOL! Hope you can actually see the card!

P.P.S. Check out this awesome BLOG CANDY ! Debbie is really going all out with this one. She's even giving out copics. Yippee! Make sure you leave a comment!

It's Finally done!

Okay, so I told you guys I was working on something great a few days back, and I am finally finished with it! Well, I was actually done with it a few days ago, but couldn't get my camera going...turns out,it just needed charging. LOL! Silly me! Well anyways, I came home this morning and took the best pictures I could get, working with the little sun light I have.

This card meant so much to me, because it is my first attempt at coloring with markers!!! YAY! I love it. I'm hooked. As I mentioned a few weekends ago, my friend Lisa (hey lisa) let me borrow her entire set of SU markers for a whole week!! Let's just say, I was one coloring mama. LOL! Here is my humble attempt at coloring with makers:

First I stamped the large image from the SU Happy Harvest set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink. I then used several SU makers to fully color the image. The base is a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 Chocolate chip card layered next with Tangerine Tango. I also used the Kiwi Kiss to layer the second piece of DSP. I absolutly love this Hawaii Papaya Paper from SU. Dawn at Treasure Oilers Designz got me hooked on this gorgeous paper. A few nesties, buttons, and some ribbon later, and this is what I got.

Here's a close up of my coloring. Yep I got out of the lines once or twice, but you have to look real hard to notice. LOL!

And here's the inside:

Well I'm off to work on a few scrapbook pages for my daughters. I should be finishing the laundry and house work. I also need to study for a test, but oh well, I have all weekend. LOL! Have a great safe and Happy Friday!

It's Monday again already!

Good Morning ladies. First off, I want to take the time to thank all of the lovely ladies that have been stopping by and checking me out. I appreciate each and every comment you all leave. Also, if you guys want to give me any blogging tips feel free to do so. So as you can see, I'm still not doing to well with the posting everyday thing. LOL! We had mid-terms last week and I spent ALL my time studying. However, it paid off. I got A's on both midterms. YAY...doing my happy dance! LOL! As a bonus for my lack of time for posting last week, I will be posting blog candy with in the next week, so keep a look out for that. (I'm still waiting on some goodies that I plan to included.)

Well anyways, I got up my nerves and decided to audition for a design team, (even though I'm a "newbie"), so cross your fingers and lets hope for the best. I really hope I make it. I think that being on a DT would help spark some creativity in this old, tired brain of mine.

Okay so, I do have a cute little card to show you guys today. I don't have anyone in mind yet to send this one to, so I guess that means I get to hold on to it just a little while longer. LOL! I'm also working on something that I am very proud of and can't wait to show off, I mean share. He-He!

Here's what I have for today though:

This little pretty is using 3 of my favorite SU colors, Regal Rose, Certainly Celery, and Pretty in Pink! I just got C.Celery ribbon so of course I had to come up with a way to try it out. I really enjoyed making this card. Between the bellas, ribbon, nesties, and stickles, I was in heaven. I hope you guys enjoy it, and don't forget to stop back by tomorrow, as I will be posting my newest creation. LOL! Have a great day!

Happy Monday Morning! (I'm actually typing this on Sunday Night, for Monday Morning) I know, who am I kidding, right! Ugh, if you are like me, Monday mornings are the worse. My little bellas are gauranteed to be uncooperative, traffic stinks, and I just don't wanna go to work!

So, I know I said I would be posting everyday starting LAST friday, as we can see that didn't happen. Life happened instead. LOL! Between the essays, tests, and kids, I just couldn't get anything in. However, My dear friend /co-worker Lisa, let me babysit her ENTIRE set of SU Markers for the weekend. Needless to say, that sparked my creativity. LOL! Heck, they even inspired me to hurry and get all my work done on Friday so I could squeeze in some play time Saturday and Sunday! I colored so many images, it's not funny. LOL! I was one coloring momma all weekend long! I squeezed in a few cards and will definantly be creating a few other things over the next few days with all my new images.

I desperately needed to make a thank you card for another friend and co-worker of mine, Carolyn. She has been more than nice to the little bellas and I, and I just wanted to thank her with a little handstamped love. So, here it is:

I absolutley fell inlove with the '08 in-colors. Groovy Guava was my Favorite. I just can't let it go. The base of these two cuties, is a standard 4 1/4" by 5 1/2" card in Groovy Guava. I then used a 4" x 5 1/4" in piece of Ruby Red Cardstock. The Floral panel is from the Ginger Blossom DSP (which is now retired), and measureses 3 3/4" x 5" and I scalloped it on one edge or another (see photo), with my Fiskars Edge Punch. I then added Guava Double stitched ribbon to the DSP panel before adhearing to the card. The Thank You sentiment is stamped on WW in Groovy Guava and comes from an Archeiver's clear stamp set. Those are punched with a Circle punch and adheared to a River Rock scallop. The scallops are actually on popdots so that they stand out some. These were really easy to make but for some reason took me forever to finish.

In other news from the weekend, Mackenzie turned 2. We got her a cake from the local bakery that we have been using for years. However, this year it turned out to be crappy. The cake looked like something I made in my cake decorating class. It was all lop sided and uneven, the border wasn't even finished. And on top of that, it tasted stale. I was very disapointed in the whole thing but, all in all, we had a very nice, low-key family gathering. Here's a pic of the awful cake:

Anyways, I'm off to get the girls ready for bed and hopefully craft a little something else, after I'm done with the ironing of course. Have a Happy Day and come back to see me!
